On Saturday, March 8, 2025, we attended Greenhill School's annual fundraising gala and auction, A Night at the Races. This year, we had the honor of sponsoring the Derby Fashion Contest, which provided prizes for three winning categories: Most Fashionable Couple, Most Authentic Derby Outfit, and Best Hat. Judges recognized the most stylish and spirited attendees of the night, adding to the energy of an already unforgettable event.
All proceeds from the night went to the school's Growing Stronger Together (GST) campaign, which supports the future of Greenhill School and its students. Not only were we able to attend and sponsor the contest this year, we were also proud to make a monetary donation to this important campaign again. By contributing to this campaign, we help ensure that Greenhill students have access to state-of-the-art facilities and resources, fostering an environment where they can excel academically, athletically, and personally. The Kabani Foundation is honored to have been part of this fun and fashionable night, where community comes together to invest in the future of Greenhill School and its students.
Funds raised for the GST Campaign directly support the following priorities and initiatives for Greenhill:
On February 18, 2025, we were honored to be a Gold Sponsor at the 2025 Educational First Steps Gala, supporting expanded access to high-quality early childhood education across North Texas. With the belief that education is the foundation for opportunity, we proudly supported this incredible event, which brought together leaders, advocates, and changemakers committed to ensuring that every child—regardless of zip code—has access to the education they deserve.
This inspiring evening featured an exclusive, moderated conversation with President George W. Bush and First Lady Laura Bush, led by Ken Hersh, President and CEO of the George W. Bush Presidential Center. Their discussion on leadership, education, and the power of early learning served as an impactful reminder of why investing in children today shapes a brighter tomorrow.
Additionally, we are incredibly proud that our very own Lizna Kabani served on the Host Committee, helping make this event a historic success.
Why Early Learning Matters
At The Kabani Foundation, we are deeply committed to educational equity. Research shows that high-quality early childhood education:
✔️ Lays the foundation for lifelong learning
✔️ Closes opportunity gaps before they widen
✔️ Empowers educators to create enriching learning environments
The gala raised over $1 million to expand high-quality early childhood education across North Texas, which will go towards:
On November 23, 2024, we attended the Aga Khan Foundation Banquet at the Dallas Museum of Art. It was a great evening spent with our good friends learning about the impactful work of Aga Khan Foundation USA (AKF). Their foundation is dedicated to tackling the root causes of poverty, improving access to quality education and healthcare, and empowering communities worldwide. Our Foundation is grateful to have been able to support this inspiring mission at this fundraising banquet.
Back in September, we sponsored the venue for a She Grows Rich (SGR) event held for their 56 founding members at Honor Yoga in Plano, TX. Attendees enjoyed a revitalizing sound bath and aerial yoga session!
She Grows Rich is a women-founded group focused on enabling and empowering other women on their journey to financial independence, and our very cofounder, Lizna Kabani, serves on their advisory board.
In July of 2024, the Aga Khan Museum opened a new exhibit, Light: Visionary Perspectives, to mark their 10th Anniversary, exploring light’s multifaceted impact. The Kabani Foundation helped support this exhibition, which features contemporary installations by prominent international and Canadian artists, including Anila Quayyum Agha, Tannis Nielsen, Olafur Eliasson, Kimsooja, and Anish Kapoor. The exhibition delves into how light shapes history and continues to influence our perceptions, emotions, and understanding of the world, illustrating various physical properties and symbolisms of light, showcasing the unseen force’s universal ability to unite individuals, inspire empathy, and highlight the significance of diversity.
Light: Visionary Perspectives will be on display in the Temporary Exhibitions Gallery, Museum Collections Gallery, and Atrium from July 13, 2024, to March 17, 2025.
